SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator)
Sam Boakes is Mylor Preschool’s SENCo, although all members of staff work closely together in order to support children in our setting with special educational needs.
Sam attends regular SENCo training and, as part of our Pre-School policies, we refer to the DfES Special Educational Needs Code of Practice (2001). We ensure our provision is inclusive to all children with special educational needs.
We work together to support parents and children with special educational needs (SEN). As well as identifying specific needs of children with special educational needs, we meet those needs through a range of SEN strategies.
Mylor Pre-school strongly believes in working together with parents and carers and outside agencies to better meet the needs of individual needs. We monitor and review our policies, practices and provisions on a regular basis and make necessary adjustments when needed.
